What We Do
Since 2009, FFLA works through six medium-term Strategic Initiatives to reach sustainable impacts:
Marine Governance: The process of creating and consolidating innovative systems of governance in protected marine and coastal areas.
Water Governance: Strengthening governance for integrated water management in regional watersheds.
Dialogue and Capacities for Climate Change: Multi-sector dialogue and integration of stakeholders to design public policies on climate change and development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Strengthening Local Capacities: Strengthening the capacities of local governments, social organizations and communities to drive good governance systems.
Peace Building and Border Zones: Consolidating social fabrics with a sensitive approach to conflict and peace building, with an emphasis on young people and women on Latin America´s border zones.
Intercultural Territories: Promoting intercultural dialogue and strengthening capacities for intercultural administration and governance.
Regional Forums on Socio-Environmental Conflict Transformation in Latin America: Consolidate a regional space for the collective construction of knowledge about environmental conflict transformation, linking the academic, social and political spheres.
